Training to empower management and operational people


Waste and the circular economy can be dynamic, nuanced and just plain overwhelming as topics, requiring an informed, and practical approach.

Improving recycling and circularity in a premium property is a combined effort of owners, onsite managers, tenants, cleaning and security, the resource collection contractor and a long value chain beyond!

Integrated property services provider, Glad Group, who service large property and ASX listed organisations, has recognised this, and we developed and delivered a bespoke training package, relevant to operations within the Australian property and waste and recycling management sector for them.

On 19th March 2024, Bel and Glad Group’s National ESG Manager, Nina Collinson trained 12 Managers and Operational people, on best practice waste and recycling management on the ground and in operations.

The training, held on site within a food court, waste and recycling aggregation areas back of house, and in the back dock, brought together operational people from various sites, and was an opportunity to discuss issues and opportunities as a collective, including:

  • Identifying recovery solutions for their customers
  • Best practice source separation in tenancies
  • Unpacking the complexity of liners
  • Demystifying packaging symbols and certifications and
  • Some great ideas for back dock and bins management to reduce cost

The training provided important knowledge and understanding to ensure all Glad Group’s teams are best placed, and confident, to offer insights and guidance to their customers, when supporting the achievements of their own waste management targets and goals.

Bel also organised for Cercle, to provide reusable cups for the session, so staff could learn about the service – and of course, reduce single use packaging!

Bel took our brief to define what we need to do, and provided an outstanding result which has been very well received by the business. She has also shared the right amount of relevant information with me so I can carry on the program.
